Thomas R. Gonce, 77, passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2025. Born in Texas, but raised on Long Island, Tom built a meaningful life through service and hard work.
From an Airforce veteran serving in the Vietnam War, to a short order cook at Jimmy's Diner in Mastic, to a long career as a master plumber, and finally serving over 23 years as a NYS court officer in Central Islip, Tom will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic and mentorship of many.
Tom leaves behind his former wife Patricia Gonce of Eastport, NY and his two children, Trevor Gonce (Rachel) of Quogue, NY, and Tiffany Mazzeo (Santi) and their two children, Gabriella and Lyla, all of Mansfield, MA.
He also leaves behind two sisters, Raynelle Gonce of Las Vegas, and Desi Schellinger of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley May and brother Harold Gonce.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) or Shriners Children's (shrinerschildrens.org).
