To the Grace Family:

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your Husband, Carol, your Father, Tommy and Jill, and your Grandfather, Cole and Gunnar. Siblings Tim, John, Jim, and Sue Ellen, please accept my heart felt sympathy for your loss as well.
The Grace Family was, and is still, part of the core of the Proctor - Pittsford Community and, by Tom's own personal way of bonding with and supporting this Community throughout his life, his time with us will always be remembered.
My introduction to the Grace Family started during my summer jobs at VTRANS where I met Tom's Father Arthur (friends called him Archie). Archie was an endearing soul, one who took the time to teach the summer-help like me some welding skills while listening to what my plans for the future might be. To me, Tom was just like his Father, always listening to others, but stepping in when he knew what needed to be done to finish the job. We worked together on numerous construction projects extending over a twenty year plus period as a result.
I always honored Tom's military service during the Vietnam War and I was aware that he was a decorated Veteran of this Foreign War. However, it was only later in our careers that Tom shared a brief glimpse of one of the events that lead to his decoration with a Purple Heart, but that is a story for his family to tell.
God bless you Tom, may you rest in peace. I will always miss crossing paths with you.
