Thomas Jason Hadwin

Thomas Jason Hadwin, age 81, of Grandville, Michigan, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Tom leaves behind his wife of 47 years and the love of his life, Loretta Hadwin, who stood faithfully by his side through every season. He was the proud father of five daughters—Mary (Chad) Riley, Melissa (Gary) Robinson, Robin Browne, Billie Hadwin, and his late daughter Theresa Redwine. He was the cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren: Jesse Browne, Austin (Allison) Browne, Mason Riley, Kadelyn Browne, Spencer (Arabella) Riley, Megan (Dylan) Loggains, Ashton Stewart, and Gunnar Stewart, great-grandpa to his great granddaughter Paisley O'Rourke, and goofy, loving Uncle Tom to many nieces and nephews. His family was his greatest joy, and we will forever feel the void his absence leaves in our hearts and lives.

Tom was drafted into the army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam war. Following his service in the military he became a respiratory therapist for several years and then ultimately a truck driver until he retired. He was a hard worker, pulling long hours to provide for his family-- but you never heard him complain.

Tom was a cherished member of his church family at Rivertown Assembly and loved interacting with everyone. He loved God with his whole heart and it showed in his worship and devotion. To all who knew him, Tom was a light—full of joy, quick to smile, and always ready with a song, a funny joke, or even a quirky dance. He could always make you laugh. Whether humming a tune under his breath or singing praise from his heart, he brought warmth to every room and every person he met. Humble, gentle, and steadfast in his faith, he lived out the love of Jesus in the simplest and most sincere ways—through kindness, encouragement, prayer, gratitude, and genuine care for others.

Once he retired, he was often seen taking his daily walks through the streets of Grandville, stopping to chat, laugh, or simply brighten someone’s day-- and He made friends everywhere he went. His long walks were also spent in prayer for his family-- he called them his "prayer walks" and they were sacred to him. His presence was a gift as he poured out the love of Jesus everywhere he went. He was dearly loved and his absence will be deeply felt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Thomas Hadwin; his mother, Ruth Hadwin; his daughter, Theresa Redwine; and his brothers, Lon Hadwin, John Hadwin, and Jim Hadwin and their spouses, his nephew Jon Hadwin II and his niece Tamara Murray. His nephew, Lon Hadwin II also passed away the day after Tom did. Tom loved Jesus with his whole heart and was ready to meet his Savior--and so excited for that reunion with his family!

Tom leaves behind a beautiful legacy of prayer, joy, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love. Though our hearts ache and we miss him more than words can express, we celebrate the life he lived and the lasting imprint he left on each of us. We want to follow the example he left for us until we too hear Jesus say "Well done".....

A memorial service honoring his life will be held on: Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00am
