Dear Hayden family,

The Gibson family is so sorry for your loss of Tom. We hope you find comfort in wonderful memories, knowing that Tom was loved by many and was an incredible inspiration to others. Everyone who knew him was influenced and inspired by his kindness. He was a great man and leaves behind a brilliant legacy.

We are truly thankful for the decades of friendship, between our parents and especially between Charlie and Tom. Their relationship started decades ago at Tri County Tec as colleagues and grew into a lifelong friendship.

Tom was always able to lend a hand to help Charlie on the farm, assisting with the cattle, the sawmill and tinkering with various jobs around the farm, as their interests were so similar. They enjoyed spending hours together telling stories and listening about Tom and Mary Ann's adventures around the world.

It was a privilege to have the opportunity to know Tom. As our dads aged, they taught us how to grow old with courage, dignity, kindness, and humor.

Your family is in our prayers during this difficult time.

The Gibsons
Phil and Debbie, Stanley and Beth, and Joy and the entire Gibson clan

Past District Governor Tom was always one of our favorite Lions. He always had a smile and a great story. With Mary Ann by his side, they seemed to constantly be surrounded by people wanting to hear about their latest adventures. The Lions of SC have lost another favorite. Thanks for your service, Lion Tom.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was a fine gentleman and friend. I worked with him at Tri-County Tech for many years in Continuing Education. You could always count on Tom to help with any problem. Also, he will be missed in our American Legion, Post 113, Pendleton. He served as our chaplain and adjutant general. He also administered the Boys State Program and also helped with the Girls State sponsored by the Auxiliary. Tom was truly an all around person helping wherever there was a need. God's blessings Mary Ann and your family.

I feel like I've lost a good friend although I never met Mr. Hayden. I work at United Way of Pickens County and he has been the most loyal donor for all of my 27 years there. Yesterday, I sent him a thank you letter. I am so sad to learn of his passing. He was a generous man. My condolences to your family.
