Thomas Edward Hickok, born on November 5, 1931, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on November 14, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma. His life was marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a strong work ethic that guided him through seven decades of labor as a machinist.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Thomas served honorably during the Korean War, exemplifying the values of courage and commitment that he carried into his civilian life. His contributions have left an indelible mark, not only in his community but also within the hearts of those who knew him.
Thomas’ deep commitment to family began with his marriage to Nelva Jo on April 2, 1953. They shared many years together, creating a loving home until her passing in 1994. Together, they fostered a warm and nurturing environment for their children, which remains a testament to their enduring love.
He is survived by his children: Mike Hickok and his wife Sarinda of Locust Grove, OK, and Denise Mahan and her husband Steve of Chouteau, OK. Thomas also cherished his role as a grandfather to Nicole Shelton and her husband Jeremy, Brooke Mahan, Josh Mahan, and Adam Hickok and his wife Christina. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Miranda, Mackenzie, Nate, Eden, and Eva.
Throughout his 57-year career as a machinist, Thomas instilled a strong sense of diligence and responsibility in the generations that followed him. A member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, he found joy in helping others and contributing to his community. His kindness and willingness to lend a hand to those in need will be remembered fondly by many.
Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nelva, and his parents, Arthur and Mary Ann Hickok.
