Thomas V. Holleman, 77, of South Bend passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2025.
Tom was born on October 4, 1948, in Mishawaka to the late Willis and Ora Lee (Foster) Holleman.
A lifelong area resident, Thomas graduated from Riley High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marines and bravely served his county in the Vietnam War. Dad was very proud to be a Marine. He once told me that he joined the Marines because it was the toughest and most difficult branch of the military.
He worked as a security guard after returning from Vietnam. He also worked for over 40 years at AM General.
Known as Tommy to his friends, Dad was an avid bowler. He bowled a perfect 300 several times. His gardening skills were the envy of the neighborhood and his tomatoes were the best in town. He also enjoyed spending time at the Varsity Club, was a dedicated swimmer and enjoyed driving around in his mustang convertible.
On March 13, 1971, he married the former Beverly Creech. They were blessed with 4 daughters, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Jeanette and Justine, who all survive. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, his cat and best friend Leora, sister and brother in law Linda and Robert Hunter, a sister Marcia, and brothers Bob, Rick, Bill and Jim. He was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Betty Chambers.
Visitation for Tom will be held from 2pm-4pm on Sunday November 16, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. Visitation will also be held from 10am-11am on Monday November 17 at the funeral home with a funeral service beginning at 11am. Burial will follow with military honors at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom's name may be made to the St Joseph County Humane Society.
Online condolences may be sent via the Palmer Funeral Homes website at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
