Thomas "Aaron" Hurley, 39, of Cherryville, NC, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
A native of Gaston County, he was born August 16, 1986 to Jeff and Robin Hurley.
Aaron was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and received many honors. Including, Army Achievement Medal X2, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Drivers Badge w/W Clasp, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/M Device, NCO Professional Development Ribbon.
Aaron worked at Conner Brothers Machine Shop. He enjoyed motorcycles, cars, racing, camping and spending time with family and friends. No matter what it was, he would make time for you. He was funny and very smart. He was a hard worker, never rested, and was always trying to better himself for his family. He took care of us all like no one ever will. He was the best Dad, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle and friend. Aaron was so dedicated to his family and friends and will be missed more than words can say. His love and laughter will remain in our hearts and with us forever.
Aaron is survived by his loving wife, Lindsey Hurley; daughter, Paisley Hurley; parents, Jeff and Robin Hurley, sisters, Jessica Taylor and Tera Hurley; brother, Michael Hurley; sisters in law, Taylor and Brianna Zelms; brother in law, Dillon Zelms; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
A funeral service officiated by Reverend Ron Duncan will be held 3pm Sunday, March 1, 2026 at the funeral home with military honors by the Army National Guard and the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Burial will be private.
