Thomas Wayne Jenkins, age 53, of Caryville, TN passed away on August 1, 2025, at his home after a courageous and faithful battle with cancer. Tommy was born on January 4, 1972, in Anderson County to J.C. and Kathy Jenkins. Tommy proudly served in the US Marine Corps and in the Army National Guard. He worked at Y-12 National Security complex for 20 years.
Tommy had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone. He loved fishing, hunting, bluegrass and gospel music, and spending time with his family and friends.
Tommy was saved at an early age and was a member of Guiding Star Baptist Church of Lake City.
Tommy was preceded in death by Father, J.C. Jenkins, sister Theresa Jenkins Brown, and grandparents George Walker, Georgia Walker, Dudley Jenkins and Sue Jenkins.
Tommy was survived by his daughter, Samantha, of Cleveland, Mother Kathy Jenkins of Caryville, brother, James Jenkins of Caryville, nieces – Tayler Brown of Lake City, Tifani Brown of Chattanooga, Alex Jenkins of Lake City, nephew Andrew Jenkins – US Air Force in Tucson, Arizona, great nephew Grayson Hall of Lake City, several aunts, uncles, and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to thank UT Hospice, Allpro Home Care Solutions, Dr. Doddabele's office at Tennessee Care Center, and Dr. Elliot Navo's office for the excellent care. The family would also like to thank Tommy's family, friends, and coworkers for their love and support.
The family will receive friends at the Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 5 to 7pm with the funeral service to follow at 7pm with Rev. David Walker and Rev. Kenny Sharp officiating. Graveside service will be in Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 1pm at Ridgeview Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors presented by Campbell County Honor Guard. www.leachfamilyfuneralhome.com
