Thomas Anthony Johnson

Mr. Thomas Anthony "Cuda" Johnson, Age 80, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. Born on August 12, 1945, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Thomas leaves behind a legacy of warmth, faith and spirited storytelling that touched all who knew him.

Thomas was a proud graduate of Saint Joseph's Catholic High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Saint John's University in New York. His academic journey reflected his deep curiosity and commitment to understanding the world around him-qualities that would shape both his professional path and personal philosophy.

A veteran of the United States Army, Thomas served his country with honor and integrity. Following his honorable discharge, he carried the discipline and dedication of military service into every aspect of his life.

Thomas was a devoted Jehovah's Witness whose spiritual convictions were central to his identity. His faith guided him through life's challenges and joys alike, offering strength not only to himself but also to those fortunate enough to share in his wisdom and compassion.

Known affectionately as "Cuda" Thomas had magnetic personality that drew people in. He was fun-loving and genuinely open-hearted man who never met a stranger. His gift for storytelling was legendary, whether recounting moments from his youth or sharing spiritual insights, he had a way of captivating listeners with humor, depth and sincerity.

He found joy in simple pleasures like basketball and swimming activities that kept him active and connected with others throughout the years. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of his zest for life and mutual respect.

Thomas is preceded by his parents and brothers, Clarence Johnson, David Johnson and Carl Johnson.

Thomas is survived by devoted wife, Linda Johnson; loving daughter Shawn Slater (James Slater), brothers Paul Johnson and James Johnson and sisters, Grenda Griffin, Muriel Holmes, Francesca (Ronald) Bolling and a many nieces and nephews and host of spiritual brothers and sisters.
