Thomas Jordan, Sr.
March 1, 1929 - Sept. 4, 2023
Thomas H. Jordan, Sr. passed away at the Ray Hickey Hospice House, Vancouver, Wash. Born in Portland, Ore., his parents, Herbert Jordan and Alexie (Pigney) Jordan, emigrated from England.
Tom graduated from Grant High School in Portland. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cartographer. He was a life member of The Seaside Elks Lodge #1748, the American Legion Post #14, Vancouver, and 40 et 8 Voiture 99, Vancouver.
Tom's career in the concrete and cement industries included Willamette Hi-Grade Concrete, Columbia Sand & Gravel, Oregon Portland Cement (Ash Grove Cement), and took him to Boise, Idaho, Kennewick, Wash., and Federal Way, Wash. Tom retired in 1994 as Regional Sales Manager, Portland.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Marie (Zuber-Griffith) Jordan. They created a blended family of eight children, Daniel Jordan (Jane), Junction City, Ore.; Kathleen Nicholsen (Carl), Creswell, Ore.; Alexie McElhoe (Scott), Longview, Wash.; Darla Hall (Danny), Deer Park, Wash.; Tom Jordan Jr, Vancouver, Wash., Stanley Griffith, Happy Valley, Ore.; Debi Hart-Mata (Mario), North Ft. Meyers, Fla.; Donald Griffith, Portland, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Tom's former wives were Gladys Redmond and Shirley Zimmerman-Sanders.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Remembrances to the Elks Eye Foundation, the Ray Hickey Hospice House, or the charity of your choice.
