Thomas Judson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carr Funeral Home - Whitinsville on Feb. 25, 2026.
Remsen, New York / Sutton, Massachusetts - Thomas W. Judson passed away in Albany, New York, with his loving family by his side after a lengthy illness.

Tom was born on January 18, 1950, in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, to Barrett W. and June E. (Froh) Judson. He grew up and attended school in Sutton, Massachusetts, where he developed the strong work ethic and independent spirit that stayed with him throughout his life. He later founded his own construction business, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the lasting work he built with his hands.

In 2007, Tom moved to Barneveld, New York, and eventually settled in Remsen, where he designed and built his own custom home - a true reflection of his creativity and skill. On the property, he opened a gift shop featuring his beautifully crafted wood pieces, each made with care and attention to detail. He also cultivated a nursery where he grew flowers and vegetables, finding peace and fulfillment in working the land and creating something from the ground up with his dog Tanner by his side.

He is survived by his children: John of Dudley, Massachusetts; Joshua of Colorado; Stacey of Sutton, Massachusetts; and Miranda. He also leaves his brother, David Judson and his wife, Lori, of Webster, Massachusetts; his sisters, Janet of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, and Betty of Lancaster, New Hampshire; along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held on March 7, 2026, from 1-4PM at the VFW in Remsen, New York. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor his life.

Memorial Calling Hours at Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, Massachusetts, will be Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11AM-1PM. Burial in South Sutton Cemetery will be held privately at a later date.
