Thomas J. Keto of Clintondale passed away unexpectedly at home on October 8, 2024 at the age of 81 with family by his side.
Tom was born on June 7, 1943 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Joseph and Margaret (Strobel) Keto. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and worked at Taylor Manufacturing as lead machinist for many years until his retirement.
Tom was married to Katherine Rooney for 39 happy years.
Tom enjoyed many hours golfing, hunting and spoiling his beloved pups Coco and Judy.
He is survived by his wife Katherine and three children, John (Paula) Keto, Tracy (Sherman) Kwant and Ann-Marie(Michael) Keen and brothers Robert Keto and Joseph (Valerie) Keto and grandchildren Sabrina Velez, Antonio Velez, Joshua Keto, Cori Keto and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his first wife Charolette, his sisters Monica Schmadel, Patricia Hicks and his brother William Keto.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to a local animal shelter.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10 from 5-7 PM at Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St, Rhinebeck, NY
Burial will take place on Friday, October 11 at 11:00 AM in Schultzville Union Cemetery, Center Rd, Rhinebeck, NY.

I'm sorry I missed the calling hours. I just now found out that Tom had died. I enjoyed seeing him recently at a dinner held at Taylor Manufacturing. He was his usual jovial self.

I worked with Tom for many, many years at Taylor. He was a skilled (and fast) machinist, but more importantly, he was a great guy. He was often boisterous and unfiltered, but usually with a good hearted smile.

He was a unique and enjoyable person to be around. I will miss him.
