Dr Key and his wife Anne gave me wonderful care for my high risk pregnancies in 91 and 93. I am saddened to read they both have passed. I have always been grateful to them not just for the pregnancy care but also after. /he referred me to a surgeon for my cervical cancer. Blessings to the family.

Dr. Key saved my life in SD, CA 1990. He was a wonderful doctor and eternally grateful he was my doctor during he delivery of my stillborn daughter. It was a challenging delivery but, he handled everything with professionalism and care. Both him and Anne were great people. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. May the angels be looking over you and may you be resting in peace. God bless you Dr. Key. My sincere condolences to the family. Thank you for all you did for me and my family.

Dr Key was an amazing doctor as a referral for our patients from Northern Montana Healthcare in Havre, Mt. Our physicians referred to him for years and patients loved him! I was so amazed that on a miracle he came as a locum to NMH and I am forever grateful I was able work as a OB nurse with him. He was very compassionate and kind to everyone he encountered. My daughter was very fortunate to see him for infertility with her first child and we are forever grateful too him and his expertise. Keep your memories close and his love in your hearts Dede Reichelt RN

Not only was Tom a great physician, he was also a great educator. As a MFM fellow and then junior faculty member at UC San Diego in the 1980's , he taught many of us residents so much about high risk pregnancies and we all have such fond memories of how knowledgeable, kind, and caring he was. He taught me about clinical research and we did one of my first clinical trials during that time.

My heart goes out to his family. What a wonderful human being he was.

Lauren and Clinton-
I remember both your parents well- I was fortunate enough to work with and learn from your dad when I was a nursing student and staff nurse on the OB/GYN floor at MUSC Hospital in Charleston. He was one of the wisest, kindest, and caring physicians with whom I had the privilege of working. Dr. Key treated the staff and patients with dignity and respect. Your mom echoed his traits as an excellent NICU nurse. They were both consummate professionals. Outside the hospital, I was honored to babysit for you both when you were young.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

Sweet Dr. Key and his wife were at my and my husband's side for a twin-twin transfusion and poly-hydramnios pregnancy. We started having complications at 9 weeks in Helena MT and I was in he and his wife's care til we delivered at 25 weeks 5 days. One twin lasted 6 hrs and one 6 days and he marched along with us for all of it. They were a tremendously caring, loving and compassionate team. We will never forget you. I'm very thankful that Dr. Key came into our lives, April 2005. My husband & I live in Dillon, MT - I had a high risk pregnancy and was introduced to Dr. Key. His professionalism, calmness, caring and most of all, his openness of being helpful when I needed to hear his kind, soft spoken words of encouragement. Living 3 hours South of Great Falls, Dr. Key was flexible in my delivery and made sure that our baby was healthy & strong to be delivered early, December 30, 2005 @ 12:10 pm, 7 lbs 6 oz. We had not decided on a name girl/boy, not knowing what gender we were ready to deliver, my husband while driving up to Great Falls December 29th, thought of Kee as a name, after Dr. Key. We had arrived and I was checked into the hospital and the first thing that I told Dr. Key is that we would like to name our baby after him, Dr. Key was touched and honored. So Dr. Key's memory is always with our family and will forever be in my heart - Lisa & Matt Christiansen (Kee Adam Christiansen will be 19 years old this year & currently a F/T Freshmen MSU Student & Football Player (#20))

I was introduced to Dr Key in 2012 at 17 weeks pregnant. My husband and I were terrified our baby would survive the emergency cerclage I needed. On Thanksgiving morning right before I went in to surgery Dr. Key came into my room, took my hand, and said in the kindest most comforting voice I have ever heard..."I'm not God, but I like to cheat nature."
Although our son was 6 week premature and Dr. Key said the cerclage was a failure, I have an 11 year old boy who is proof that Dr Key cheated nature.
My heart goes out to Dr Key's family. He was such an amazing Dr and a genuinely nice human being.

We lived in Helena Mt in 2010. My daughter was a very scared young mother at 16. She would have great complications with her pregnancy but with the love, compassion of Dr Key my daughter had my grandson (14 now) we were blessed with a wonderful outcome. Rest in peace the world was a better and more beautiful place because of you!!

I was so fortunate enough to have Dr Key as my dr. starting in 1995. He saved my first born with an emergency c-section and as he put it "he had to jump start him" then when my second tried to come at 18 weeks he again, with the help of his wife and a pump and lots of bed rest we kept him in there until after Christmas and had a healthy little baby the way I wanted to have my baby. Number three went to term and was perfect. He was always so kind and such a comfort, often sitting on the edge of the bed and visiting with the family. He is one of the family in my heart. We still watch all three of our birth videos and he is a part of that experience. I´ve often thought of him over the years and tried to write him and email a few years ago to say hi. I hope he got it:) I´m sorry for the loss of him at such an early age. He was a kindred spirit to me as I begin my own farm later in life. I often think of seeing him at morning light coffee in his farming cloths. I love how he found the time and energy to do so many things. The "many unfinished projects" in the obit made me smile. thank you for helping us have our family Tom (and Karen Monfort)

In August of 2000, I was introduced to this WONDERFUL Dr. at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls, Mt. I was having complications in my pregnancy, Dr. Key was guiding me through all my complications. He came to my room after being flighted to Great Falls from my small town. He sat beside me answering all my questions and easing my mind. The most amazing part was when he drove to my small town early in the morning and assisted my Doctor in the C-section and safe delivery of my second child. I was so worried about the added expenses of having 2 doctors, I came to find out he donated his time and called it training for the other doctor. 24 years have gone by now, and my daughter is a successful Second grade teacher at a small school in Montana. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Key for everything he did for my family. His compassion and caring for us will never be forgotten. He was truly a blessing.
