Thomas M. King, 75, passed away at home on May 27, 2025. He was born November 2, 1949, in Toledo to Harry and Christine King. He graduated from Whitmer High School, Com Tech (University of Toledo) and Stautzenberger College.
Tom served two years in the US Army. He worked at Radio Shack, Owens Corning, Ford, OI and IBM. As a computer technician, he worked in companies in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. He was a past member of the East Toledo Historical Society and a couple of computer clubs. He enjoyed taking time with his wife, Collene, on day trips, music shows, going to the Farmer's Market on Airport Highway and taking trips to enjoy the fall colors. He also enjoyed working with Collene on the house, both inside and out, listening to music, dancing and singing, and being with his puppies.
He met Collene Joy Oatley on a blind date. He always said when she said hello, he fell in love and they were inseparable, that she was the best thing that happened to him. Tom was one of the kindest gentlemen.
Tom is survived by his wife and soulmate, Collene Joy (Oatley) King. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judy and Susie; his beloved mother-in-law, Priscilla and father-in-law, Samuel; uncle, Bernard King; sister-in-law, Robin Oatley; and his pets, Genevieve, Ralphie and Nicky.
Collene would like to thank her best friend, Tamara Busdieker, for all her emotional support.
Memorial service will be November 1, 2025, at 1:00pm at Point Place United Church of Christ, 4920 297th St., by private invitation only. Tom's ashes will be buried in the future with Collene, in the meantime he will remain at home with his wife.
