Thomas Edward Kramer, Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in Iowa, LA. Born on December 4, 1963, in Welsh, LA, Tom lived a life rich in love and compassion, surrounded by family and friends who cherished him deeply.
After high school Tom became an owner-operator truck driver, a role that allowed him to travel and provide for his family. His dedication to his work was only rivaled by his love for his family. He was the one everyone called for help or turned to for guidance. Tom enjoyed fishing, fixing things up, and spending quality time with his beloved dog, Bandit.
In 1988, Tom married the love of his life, Penny Kramer. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home for their children, Thomas Kramer, Jr. (Amy), Derek Kramer (Mandie), Heather Kramer Danos (Seth), Kristy Kramer Piazza, and Quinton Kramer (Brooklyn). Tom was also a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Chloe, Reagan, Brant, Lila, Blaiz, Emarie, Anthony, Rylee, Matthew, Kylee, Weston, Walker, and Reese. He took immense joy in watching his family grow and thrive.
Tom's siblings, David Kramer (Roxanne), Ronald Kramer, Mary Ardoin (Mike), Mamie Kramer, and Tammie Benard (Joe), will remember him as a caring and supportive brother, whose spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa at 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 PM.
In honoring Tom’s memory, the family encourages you to share your stories and celebrate a life lived with passion, love, and resilience. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
Thomas was preceded in death by His parents, Thomas and Ruth Rees Kramer; his sister, Lucy Benoit; and his brother, Tony Kramer.
