In Loving Memory of Thomas J. Krizka

Thomas J. Krizka, 65, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 7, 1960, to Katherine (Burger) and Jerry Krizka. Preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings Rich, Bob, Eric, Nance and Lucielle. He is survived by his nephew's William Krizka, Edward Trejo Jr., James Trejo, Juan Esparza Jr., Karl Krizka, and his nieces Katrina Trejo, Elena (Nee) Trejo, Kimberly Krizka, Autumn Wildey- Wilson, Ashlee Wildey and many great nieces and nephews. Though his early life was marked by immense tragedy, Tom faced his many challenges with a resilient spirit and an unforgettable, rough-around-the-edges sense of humor. He leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and perseverance that will be cherished by all who knew him.

In 1983, a devastating car accident left Tom paralyzed. The tragedy could have defined him, but Tom refused to be a victim of his circumstances. Instead, he chose to live a full life to the best of his ability.

Tom attended college and earned two degrees: an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Applied Science. He put his education to work as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), dedicating many years to helping others. His unique life experience allowed him to connect with people on a deeper level, and his consistent love for others was a testament to his strong character.

Tom loved exploring the world. He particularly enjoyed traveling and felt a special kind of freedom while cruising on ships to different islands. He also had a lifelong love for anything with four wheels, especially racecars, and his passion for cars was well-known to his friends and family.

He had an especially soft spot for his beloved beagles, who were a constant source of joy and companionship throughout his life. All his beagle friends, racing friends, neighbors and loved ones were important to him.

His remarkable journey was a master class in resilience. Through unimaginable grief and physical challenges, Tom consistently chose love, humor, and a life of adventure. He taught everyone around him that the greatest obstacles can be overcome with courage and a determined spirit. His memory will be treasured by his friends, extended family, and all those whose lives he touched with his unwavering strength and compassionate heart.

"I know you are but what am I?" – Tom's famous saying

At his request, a service will not be held and donations can be made to Southeast Beagle Rescue on his behalf.
