Thomas Kronstain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Divine Mercy Funeral Home - Fort Wayne on Dec. 3, 2025.
Thomas F. Kronstain, was born on May 29, 1949, in Rochester, PA to Frank and Mildred (Cetto) Kronstain. Tom met his future wife, Connie A. (Bennett), at age 13 and married her on November 22, 1969. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kim (Rob) Crawford and Laurie (Brad) Geisleman, and raising his nephew/son, Sean (Holly) Yoho. After retirement in 2004 Tom helped to raise his three grandchildren, Seth Geisleman, Rachel and Noah Crawford from birth. Tom is also survived by his sister Lois (Sam) Runco and his sister-in-law Christine Kronstain. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Richard Kronstain and Judith Yoho.

After attending Waynesburg College in PA, Tom began his 35-year career with the Sherwin Williams Co. Throughout these years he was promoted up the ranks to District Manager of Stores in Northern Indiana, Western Ohio and Southern Michigan areas. During his career he won five President Awards and trips, the top award for best sales of the year. The family moved eight times to four states and in 1988 finally settled in Fort Wayne, IN.

They joined the Cathedral in 1990. In 1996 he became very active at the Cathedral: Extraordinary minister, sacristan and funeral server. Tom also served two years on parish council and 12 years on the finance committee. Tom with his wife, Connie, spearheaded the new Cathedral door committee which was a fundraiser to obtain and sell 700 replica models of the Cathedral. He also was on the air conditioning committee and several other committees. His two daughters were married in the Cathedral.

Since the family moved within Fort Wayne, Tom was a member at St. Charles Borromeo from 2013-2022 and from 2022 to present at St. Vincent DePaul.

Tom was an active volunteer in the community. For 15 years he volunteered every Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital as an extraordinary minister taking communion to all the Catholic patients. Along with his wife, they took communion to two home bound Cathedral parishioners for 20 years until their passing. Since the 2011 opening of the Redeemer Radio St. Gabriel Chapel, Tom and his wife were selected by Msgr. Schulte to be the sacristans of the chapel.

From 2016-2020 Tom volunteered at St. Anne's Home as a Eucharistic Minister, who took communion to residents who could not come to the chapel for 10:30 Mass.

There will be a Mass held at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1105 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, IN, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00am. There will be a visitation beginning at 9:00 am with a Rosary prayed at 9:15 am. Entombment will follow at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joseph Hospice Suites at Saint Anne's Community or Masses may be made at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Tom was a great husband, Dad and Pap and always put his family first.
