Tom was born on August 27, 1941, in Dyersville at the family home where he also died. One of the few people in this day who can say they were born and died in the same place. He was the son of Herbert and Armella (Klaus) Lammers. He married Patricia Detloff on October 19, 1963, in Struble, Iowa. Tom graduated from Xavier High School in 1959. He also sold insurance for many years and ended his work career selling homes for All American where he and Pat meet many people who became great friends. He achieved his 4th degree Knight and was extremely proud of this honor. Tom was active in the American Legion having been a member for 47 years and life member where he served as commander of Post 137 Dyersville. Tom was a charter member of the Dyersville Jaycees serving as the 3rd president.
