Thomas Laury

Thomas Isiah Laury was born on August 27, 1947 to Isiah and Edith (Cunningham) Laury in Buckingham, Virgina. Thomas received his formal education through the Buckingham, VA Public School System.
Thomas was united in marriage to his lovely wife, Janet Lee Davis; she preceded him in death on February 7, 2022. From their union, they were blessed with children Michael and Michelle Laury. He was also blessed with his beautiful first-born daughter, Tammy Martin.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After honorably returning home, Thomas was employed as a Sheet Metal Operator. Thomas then started his career as a Maintenance Professional at The Deron School in Union, NJ, where he served dutifully for over twenty plus years before retiring.
Thomas was loved by all who knew him. He took special pride and joy in all his grandchildren, Michael Jr., Mariyah, Jalen, Ny'Shiana, Hy'Drea, Keith, as well as his great-grandson, Ja-Cion. Thomas truly enjoyed helping others and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Thomas was truly blessed and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his son, Michael (Leslie) Laury; daughters, Michelle Laury and Tammy Martin; grandchildren, Mariyah Laury, Jalen Davis, Ny'Shiana Martin, Hy'Drea Hankerson; sisters, Emma Dews and Shirley Jackson; great-grandson, Ja-Cion; brother and sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his lovely grandson, Michael Laury, Jr., parents Isiah and Edith Laury; brothers,Matthew Laury, Calvin Laury, Lee Roy Laury and William Edward Laury.
