Thomas Kyle Leak

1961 - 2026

Thomas Kyle Leak, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, teacher, passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, learning, patriotism and love.

Thomas was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to LaRae and James Leak. He dedicated his life to education, integrity, and family. Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer, where his commitment to justice and ethics guided his distinguished military career. His service with the Navy allowed him to travel extensively, and he deeply enjoyed experiencing the many unique places and cultures he encountered.

After retiring from the Navy, Thomas continued to live out his passion for teaching as a Senior Instructor in the Legal Training Division at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) in Brunswick, Georgia, serving the Department of Homeland Security. Teaching was truly Thomas's calling-whether guiding countless students in the classroom or mentoring his sons, he found purpose in sharing knowledge and helping others grow. Thomas was the devoted husband of Juanita JonesLeak, a loving father to Jason Leak and Samuel Leak, and a proud grandfather to six grandchildren. His impact reached far beyond his family. Thomas left an impression wherever he went, known for his wisdom, kindness, humor and genuine care for others. He was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, LaRae and James Leak. He is survived by his beloved wife, Juanita JonesLeak; his sons, Jason(Lauren) Leak and Samuel(Toehana) Leak; and his six grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward his values and legacy. A viewing will be held on January 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (MT) at Anderson & Sons Funeral Chapel, 6141 W Timpanogos Hwy., Highland, Utah 84003. A memorial service will be held on January 16th at 12:00 p.m. at 10351 N Bayhill Dr., Cedar Hills, Utah 84062. Thomas Kyle Leak's life was one of service, dedication, and teaching. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, the students he inspired, and the family he loved deeply.
