Thomas Linnane Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) Linnane born March 4, 1931, died May 31, 2025 at home in the company of his loving family. Son of Thomas Linnane and Margaret Reidy Linnane. Married Joan (Byerly) Linnane on April 14, 1956 Dedicated father of TImothy, 1957-2013 (Clare Cunningham Linnane), Thomas (Jennifer Kizer Linnane), Susan Glihooly (Robert), Mary Jean "Mitzy" Brennan (Patrick), Karen Bjorklund (Mark), Kathleen Fuentes (Kenneth) Grandfather to 21 and great grandfather to 14. Attended St. Agnes grammar school in Chicago 1937 to 1945 and St. Rita high school in Chicago 1945-1949. Following high school served in the US Coast Guard and reserve from 1951 to 1960. Joined the Chicago Fire Department in 1954 where he served until 1995 when he retired at the rank of captain. Tom and Joan were happily married for 69 years. Tom had a quick Irish wit and enjoyed playing and coaching sports, playing cards with friends and most of all spending time with his large family. On June 7, 2025, family and friends will meet directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 15050 S. Wolf Road, Orland Park IL for 10:30am Mass. Interment private.
