I will always remember Tom's wit and ability to memorize material. He memorized 1 John and quoted it to me as part of a challenge in youth group. He was a phenomenal bible quizzer. He inspired me to start a prayer group for teens in the church who were serious about prayer. And he was so humble, at least when he and Josh Morrison weren't together picking on me. It was an honor and joy to be his youth pastor. I think he may have left a bigger impact on my life than I was able to leave on his. Rest in peace my friend.

Tom was my beloved student here at the University of Kansas, where we shared an enthusiasm for Old French. Tom was the best reader of OF I have ever had in all my years here, and I was so happy to see him go on to the University of Michigan. I saw him a few times after he left, and it was always a joy. Such a talented person (and a great sense of humor!), and a fine human being all round. I so wish he were still among us, and send my heartfelt condolences to his family.

Dear Tom, you are already greatly missed. Your sympathy, your sarcasm, and your epic staredown with Gadget will never be forgotten. My condolences to your friends and loved ones.
