Thomas Edward Maynard, of East Prairie, MO, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at the age of 71, following a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes.
Thomas was born on November 18, 1951, in Schomberg, Ontario, Canada. Thomas moved to the United States when he was 7 years old. Thomas was blessed with a small and loving family.
He met his wife to be, Betty, years ago before eventually the two fell in love. Their romance lasted 26 years and was blessed with three wonderful children and two grandchildren.
He lived vicariously through his mechanical skills, and fishing just brought him so much joy and happiness. Thomas was loved and liked by everyone. He had an awesome and funny personality. He loved fishing along with automobiles and racing. Through his time here with us he managed to do so much. He raced dirt-bikes when he was younger, raced off-road as well as four wheelers. He loved working on small engines and boat motors, which he did until he just couldn't any longer. No doubt will be doing these hobbies in Heaven.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Maynard; his mother, Audrey Maynard; and his sister, Pauline Santoro.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; his sons, John (wife Kimberly), and Russel; his daughter, Jennifer; his nephews, Rob and Ricky of Boston; and we can't forget his two dogs.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
