Tom McCormack formally of Scranton passed away in Sarasota Florida… Tom was the son of the late Claire (nee McAndrew) and Paul J McCormack… He was also predeceased by an older brother Jim (Joan) and brother-in-law Glenn Popien (Kathy).

Tom is survived by three sons, Mike (Judith) McCormack, Tim (Nicole) McCormack, & Jason McCormackwith whom he cherished the time they shared together, as well as Grandchildren Kelley, Mina, Elise and Ethan McCormack.
Three sisters: MaryClaire (Ed)) Coleman, Joyce Anne (Joe) Ravinskas and Kathy Popien (Glenn), as well as nephews and nieces Elizabeth McCormack, Katie Malone, E. J. Coleman Megan Laury, Kelly Ravinskas, Kaitlyn Scombordi, JJ Ravinskas & Dylan Popien.

Tom attended Holy Rosary Elementary, North Scranton Junior Hiigh School and Graduated from Scranton Central High School class of 75.

Tom also received a Bachelor of Science Degree, and Post Graduate Degree in Nutrition,both from Marywood University. Tom is of the Roman Catholic Faith

Upon Graduation, Tom became a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, a member of the American Dietetic Association with Local Chapters in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. Tom was the Food Service Director/ Registered Dietitian of Hospitals in PA, NJ and Florida, eventually becoming a Consultant Nutritionist.

While a Junior in High School, Tom became a PIAA Basketball Official until moving to Florida 1983, where he also joined the West Coast of Florida Basketball Official chapters. Tom also became a Coast Guard Licensed Boat Captain in 2000.

A Special Thank You to Megan Laury for the devoted care she showed her Uncle Tom in his final days.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a future date, at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private.
