Thomas S Moore

Thomas S Moore, 79, of Mount Gilead, OH, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday January 16, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Thomas was born in Newark and raised in Verona. After college he became a probation officer for 3 years, before he became a Newark Police Officer. Thomas was an officer for Newark for six years before he started his 22 years career as a police officer for The Port Authority of NY and NJ. He held the position of PBA 1st Vice President of the Port Authority of NY and NJ for 10 years, past president of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore, chairman of the NJ Irish Festival, an avid golfer, member of the AOH, and the St. Michael Division of Port Authority.

Thomas was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Moore, and a sister Maureen Klug. He is survived by his sister Joellen (Bob) King, and a brother-in-law Bill Klug, all of Mt Gilead, OH. He was the cherished uncle to Beth (Robert) Kyser, Meredith (Lance) Mayberry, and Jonathan (Beth) Klug, as well as a great niece Maddie.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday January 22, 2026, from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Friday January 23, 2026, at St Rose Church, 603 7th Avenue Belmar, NJ 07719.
