Thomas Mottern Obituary
Johnson City - Thomas Cleveland Mottern, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020, after a brief illness.
Tom worked at Hamilton Bank from 1963 to 1979, when Tom was named Tennessee's Commissioner of Banking by Governor Lamar Alexander. After serving a 3-year term, Tom returned to private banking. He retired as CEO of First Century Bank in Tazewell, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.

One of the most admirable man I ever knew. I had the pleasure of being Toms secretary at Farmers Bank and Trust, Winchester, TN. We remained friends for many years afterwards, and it was always nice to hear from Tom. I am so sad to see where his life has come to an end, but know his legacy will live on through his sons who he loved and adored. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. ~Dottie Davison
