Thomas Nacewicz Obituary
Thomas E. Nacewicz, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the age of 79. Born June 27, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son and only child of the late Edward and Marion (Riccio) Nacewicz of Trumbull, CT.
After graduating from Harding High School in 1961, he continued on to beauty school where he worked in the industry for over 50 years. Tom owned several successful salons in Newton, CT, including the most recent, Thomas E. Salon. He finally retired in 2022 after a long and prosperous career.
His greatest passion outside of work was golf. Tom enjoyed teeing off with his friends at different golf courses around Connecticut and the country. His sociable demeanor drew him close to a cohort of golfing buddies who relied on him for good conversations and many, many rounds of competitive golf. He took several trips both domestically and abroad to play golf; including annual trips to both Florida and the Dominican Republic, playing over 36 holes a day. Tom's love for golf was paralleled by his love for his family, friends and devotion to God.
Thomas is survived by his two daughters, Dayan Haddad and her husband Christopher of Easton, CT and Jennifer Young and her husband Ronald of Greenwich, CT; grandchildren, Ryan, Jake, Peyton and Logan; the mother of his children, Sandra Nacewicz; and his best friend, John Deilus.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN, 38105-9959, in memory of Thomas.
