He was the President and owner of Classic Course Services, Inc. since 2019, a company that was dedicated to providing turf grass to golf courses across the Southeast. He traveled all over the world selling turfgrass and he never met a stranger. He was a true salesman.
Born on August 30, 1947 in Dougherty County as the only child of the late James Perry Nalls and Virginia Wren Nalls.
Tommy was a 1966 graduate of Tift County High School and attended ABAC. His life was marked by his dedication for his work and his love for his country. He served six years in the United States Army Reserve, which exemplified his true patriotism and loyalty to his nation. Throughout his life, he had a strong work ethic and passion in all of his endeavors. His career achievements were commendable, but it was his role as a family man that truly defined him.
Tommy loved the game of football. For sixteen years, he was a referee for GHSA, and he has always been an avid Georgia Football fan with a nickname of T-Dawg.
Tommy cherished every moment spent with his loving wife of fifty-six years, Sherrie Mathis Nalls. He leaves behind his son, Chad and his wife Johnna Nalls, of Calera, Alabama, his daughter, Wendy and her husband, Dr. Chad Norris of James Island, South Carolina and his daughter, Erin and her husband Scott Freeman from Adel, Georgia, his nine grandchildren who affectionally called him T-Pop, Chace Nalls, Kenzie Nalls, Kaylee Nalls, Sam Norris, Ruthie Norris, Jack Norris, Will Freeman, Perry Kate Freeman and Clara Freeman, along with his dog, Lexie.
Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Tommy will be remembered for his dedication to his faith in Christianity and found solace in connecting with others who shared his beliefs. Sundays were particularly significant to him as he could be found at Northside Baptist Church teaching the early morning Sunday School class or embarking on trips with the Senior adults.
In every interaction, Tommy radiated kindness and genuine care for those around him. His legacy of love for his family, devotion to his community through church activities, and commitment to excellence in his work will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Tommy Nalls leaves behind a lasting impact that will be cherished by many.
