Thomas R. Ottoson

Thomas Roy Ottoson, 82, passed away on July 15, 2024. Born in Walden Township (Cass County), MN to Sven and Alma Ottoson 9/15/1941.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday July 24, 2024, at 1:00pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, MN. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. A Reception will follow at Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant at Pub '33 in Crosslake.

Tom is the last of 6 siblings: Gerald, Russell, Eleanor, Terry and David.

Tom attended schools in Pine River and Pequot Lakes. Served in the Armed Services from Sept of 1958 to February of 1962 as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. One of his fondest memories was marching in the Inaugural Parade of JFK.

He then resided in the cities after the service where he met his wife Carol and married in 1969. He worked as a commercial artist for 30 years before moving to Crosslake where they owned and operated the Bait Box Marina until 2017

Tom would spend hours in this Studio painting, he loved wildflowers and feeding the birds. Golfing was also a passion if he wasn’t on the course, he was out in the yard hitting balls. Tom enjoyed sailing also.
