STAFFORD, Va. — Thomas Edgar Peachey, 62, of Stafford County, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1944, in Gettysburg, a son of Naomi and Christian Peachey. He was married to Emily L. Peachey, who survives.

Thomas was retired from the Marines and the Navy.

He was a member of Summit Presbyterian Church.

Thomas was a leader of the Boy Scouts of America and an avid golfer.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael T. Peachey and Andrew A. and Janina Peachey; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Ann and Lewis Eby, Mary and Hubert Graybill, Ellen and Karl Forsythe, Teresa and Marlin Martin, Janice and Craig Egli and Lennie and Buck Smith; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken and Jacquie Peachey, Dave and Carol Peachey and John and Naomi Peachey; and four grandchildren, Katy, Sarabeth, Corrina and Bella.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Summit Presbyterian Church, 256 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, followed by the funeral service at 3 with the Rev. Howard Leming officiating.

Interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America, c/o National Capital Area Council, 9190 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20814; or to Summit Presbyterian Church, 256 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA 22554; or to a charity of your choice.
