Thomas Hartley Peck died on Feb. 23, 2026 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on April 29, 1955 to Donald Peck, MD and Elaine Peck. He grew up in Omro and attended UW Madison. After some exciting times as a test boat driver in Omro and downhill ski instructor at Steamboat, Colorado, he worked many years in sales and estimating at glass and garage door companies. He had many hobbies, including music, listening to old country, and playing guitar in several bands, hosting karaoke for years with his friend Scott, archery, boating, restoring wooden boats, and restoring his 1967 Pontiac LeMans convertible.
Tom enjoyed many years at the Appleton Yacht Club and was on the board there as well.
Tom is survived by his partner Connie Raether, her children Eric (Teri) and Erin (Ivan) and grandchildren Devin, Calvin and Ariel, his brother Dave (Karen) Peck, sisters Adele (Malcolm) West and Diane (Tony) Hilscher, and many other relatives and friends and cats Sassy and Zena. He will be remembered for his friendly and caring personality, his musical talent, his quirky sense of humor and his joy at making people laugh.
The family thanks his physicians, Dr. Kokontis and Dr. McNabb Pender and the staff at Apple Creek Place and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care.
A celebration of life will be held this summer.
If you drive by the Yacht Club after dark, look up and you will see the revolving light on the top of the lighthouse. Tom felt proud of his craftsmanship, and we are happy that his light still shines!
