Thomas Penza Obituary
November 12, 1933 - April 14, 2025
91 of Hammonton, NJ passed away Monday April 14, 2025 at AtlantiCare Medical Center in Galloway, NJ. TP was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1951, He went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion F.A. Funston Post # 186, Hammonton DAV Chapter 66 and the Sons of Italy Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge #1658. Tom owned and operated Penza's Service Station on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton for over 65 years. Tom was a soft-spoken man but was very much a pillar of strength. He enjoyed working on cars, especially his beloved 1957 Chevy. He often worked in his yard, hunted, and spent time with friends in his garage. Tom loved making wine, canning tomatoes, and spending time with his immediate and extended family, most of all his wife of 68 years, Frances. He is predeceased by his wife Frances A. Penza (nee DiMeglio); his parents Thomas D. Penza. Sr. and Elizabeth Penza (nee Crescenzo); and his sister Betty Lou DiGuglielmo (Joseph). Tom is survived by his three daughters, Cindy Gary (John), Patty Scaffidi (Dominic) and Liz Thomas (Sean). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Kristen (Michael), JT (Sarah), Danny (Maureen), Kelsey (Jesse), Dominic, Ali (Brett) and Sean Elizabeth as well as his great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Ava, Christopher, Hailey and Nora. Tom is also survived by his nieces and nephews Joey DiGugliemo (Margie) Donna DiGugliemo and Tommy DiGugliemo (Gina) along with many other DiMeglio nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday April 21, 2025 from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Anthony Church 285 Rt. 206 Hammonton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ. Donations may be made in Thomas' name to The American Legion F.A.
