Thomas Madison Poore

Thomas Madison Poore, age 63, of Hazlehurst passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.

Mr. Poore was born December 18, 1961 in Ocala, Florida to the late Benjamin Mumford Poore and the late Frankie Lois Carter Poore. He was owner & operator of P & P Auto & Transmission for over 30 years and loved fishing; and was devoted to his family. Mr. Poore was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Monroe Poore.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Poore of Hazlehurst; daughter, Chelsea (Marty) Mabey of Hazlehurst; son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Poore of Hazlehurst; sister, Tina Poore Googe of Hazlehurst; brother, Eddie (Rhonda) Poore of Eatonton. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.

Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Corey Googe, Caleb Poore, Crandall Poore, Chase Cabaniss, Trevor Cabaniss, M.J. Mabey, Jake Hughes, Zack Newham and Chad Miles. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Reynolds, Ashley Waters, Lance Ellis, Jeff Bloodworth, Jim Bennett, Greg Williams, Larry Martin, Jeff Davis County Sheriff Preston Bohannon & Deputies.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
