Thomas James "Jim" Prevost,

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather , great-grandfather and brother passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Age 94 years. Son of the late Edgar and Gladys (Vernon) Prevost, Jim was born November 19, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Saginaw High School. Upon graduation, Jim followed in his father's footsteps at Sarow Sales. In the course of 50 years, he was a mechanic, service writer, service manager, and finally as director of fixed operations for the Sarow family. Jim married Marilyn Rieder (Colvin) on September 15, 1990. They were married in St. Matthew Lutheran Church where they attended together ever since. Jim was an active person with a wide variety of interests. He loved hunting and fishing with his father. Fixing and rebuilding cars with his sons. Traveling to his grandchildren's various sporting events. Attending 4H fairs where his granddaughters showed various animals. Jim also enjoyed woodworking and making benches. Among his other interests were boating, water skiing, camping, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Jim enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his wife. He will be missed by many, but his memories will live on.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Marilyn; his children, Russell (Jerri) Prevost, Donald Prevost, Shelley Seelbinder, Kevin (Missy) Colvin, and Cheryl (Troy) Bronson; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his sister, Janice (Jim) Vieau; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Prevost, Marcia Prevost, Carolyn King, Kathy (Gary) Engelhardt, and brother-in-law Richard (Kathy) Rieder. Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Prevost and Dennis Prevost; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jacqueline (Donald) Hedrick and Jerrilyn (Robert) Boike.

Funeral Service will take place 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 6185 Hospital Rd., Freeland. Pastor Scott Muske will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.(between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Covenant at Home Hospice.
