Tom was born in Cleveland on September 21, 1933. He graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in 1951. Before being drafted to the Army, Tom attended the University of Notre Dame and upon his return, graduated from John Carroll University. Tom had a life-long career in the newspaper industry, including Circulation Manager for The Cleveland Press and then Regional Circulation Director for USA Today.
Faith was central to Tom’s life. He served the church as a lector at St. Gregory the Great Church in South Euclid and an usher at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Concord. Tom was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
There were very few household projects Tom couldn’t handle and he was willing to help others at a moment’s notice. Tom was a supportive father and grandfather, always attending school and sporting activities and events. He also enjoyed playing golf and bowling with his friends or cheering on the Browns as a life-long season ticket holder.
Tom had a sharp mind, a vast knowledge of Northeast Ohio and a great memory until the day he passed. He was known for having a subtle sense of humor and a quick wit. Tom will be remembered for his giving and dignified nature, but above all, for his exceptional devotion to his faith and family. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Tom to St. Gabriel Church, Concord Donation Link or Reserve Care (formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve Donation Link or by mail to PO Box 72700, Cleveland, 44192.
