Thomas Rasnick, age 76, of
Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Lakebridge Health Care Center. Thomas was born in Carter County to the late William "Wimp" Clarence Rasnick, Sr. and Hazel Victoria (Pierce) Rasnick. In addition to his parents, Thomas was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lelia Jane "Janie" Rasnick; a brother, John Frank Turner; and a sister, Alice Odom.
Thomas retired from North American Rayon Corporation and was a United States Air Force veteran. After his duty in the Air Force, Thomas became a member of the National Guard. He was a member of East Side Christian Church and enjoyed deer hunting, gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth Miller; four brothers, Ronnie Rasnick, David Rasnick, WC Rasnick and Bobby Rasnick; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Thomas Rasnick will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be all Thomas's fellow employees of the VISCO Department at North American Rayon Corporation. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Monday.
