Thomas attended Anamosa schools, Wentworth Military Academy, Marion High School, Iowa Wesleyan College, University of Iowa, University of Dubuque, and Loras College.
He was employed by T & J Enterprise.
In order to honor Thomas's memory, donations can be made to the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools, Dubuque Arboretum, or charity of your choice, in Tom's name.

My favorite teacher from Hempstead! (Class of `91) I also love cars & wrote a couple of stories in my Creative Writing classes about Mr. Rawson´s cars. He got a kick out of reading them. He was a very interesting person & made Government seem fun & important to the students. Everybody loved to stop by his classroom to say hello. He will be missed!
