Born on November 12, 1957, in North Carolina, Tommy spent his life making a mark in both his family and community. He called Gastonia, NC, home and shared countless memories with his loving spouse, Vickey Rimmer.
Tommy dedicated many years of his life as a supervisor in the textile industry, where his strong work ethic and leadership inspired those around him. He was a down-to-earth guy with a great sense of humor and a caring soul who touched many lives during his time with us.
Tommy was preceded in death by first wife, Debbie Rimmer; father, JC Rimmer; and mother Amy Lounell Elrod Horne; brothers, Ricky Rimmer, and Virgil Sutton; sister-in-law, Frances Rimmer; and sons, Jonathon and Jeremy Rimmer.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Chris Rimmer, Brandy Jones (Nathan), Kimberly Starrett (Charlie), Misty Falls (Mike), Scott Rice (Heather); brother, Jimmy Rimmer; sister, Sharon McIlwain (Tommie); sisters-in-law, Diane Rimmer, and Donna Sutton; brother-in-law, Bo Hughes; 25 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 niece; and 4 nephews.
