Thomas Wise Rorrer Jr.

Thomas Wise Rorrer, Jr., 94, of Spotsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Thomas was born on February 25, 1931, to Clara Pruett and Thomas Wise Rorrer, Sr. in War, West Virginia. He graduated from Coeburn High School and MCV School of Pharmacy. Thomas married Katherine Merryman and they had two sons, Thomas III and John Merryman Rorrer; they lived in Waynesboro where he was co-owner of two pharmacies in Waynesboro and Stuarts Draft.

Thomas served as President of the Virginia Pharmaceutical Association from 1972-1973 and on the Board of Pharmacy from 1973-1983. He received the Bowl of Hygeia award and Addington Medal of Excellence in Independent Community Pharmacy. In appreciation of the help received as a student he established several scholarships at the VCU School of Pharmacy.

After the death of his wife, he married Jacqueline Rector, who survives him and they resided in Fredericksburg. He is survived by his sons; granddaughter Ellen Midyette; and his stepchildren, Elizabeth Adams and Charles V. Rector. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Eugene and Robert Wayne, and his stepson, John Rector.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 825 College Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Outreach Program at Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg or to the Agape Fund at St. John's Episcopal Church in Waynesboro.
