Tom was born on May 13, 1944, and was a resident of Mount Carmel, TN and Winston Salem. He worked for Pilot Freight Carriers for 25 years and went on to own and drive his own truck. Tom loved motorcycles, and one of his favorite things to do was go around to visit with and talk to his many dear friends.
He was preceded by his parents, Robert "Tub" Russell, and Emily Russell Gray; his first wife, Sandra Russell Phillips; second wife, Verona Vendetta Russell; daughter, Vonda Lee Russell Fogg; and his brothers, George, Ronnie, Roy, and Mike Russsell. Tom is survived by his son, Chad Russell (Kristie); grandchildren, Zack Russell Myers, Lidia Fogg, Jared Russell (Cameryn); several nieces and nephews; stepsons, Jason and John Neeley; several step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren; as well as many dear friends, too many to count, and he loved each one dearly.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 – 1:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow in procession to Church Hill Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

I met Tom at Food City and saw him frequently when he came in. He was a very sweet man and full of "playful whim and vinegar." He will be missed by each person he ever encountered, family and friends alike !!!!! Even though Tom is no longer here in physical form his soul/spirit will continue to the "next journey."
