Thomas Ellis Sadler

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Ellis Sadler, who left us peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on December 25, 1947, in Perry, Florida, to Cleveland and Elease Jacobs Sadler. Ellis lived a life filled with dedication and service. He was a graduate of Taylor County High School where he was a member of the band. A proud veteran, Tom served in both the United States Army & the Marine Corps. His service began on July 15, 1968, until he was honorably discharged on November 16, 1988, achieving the rank of E-6. After his military service, he transitioned into a fulfilling career as a Purchasing Agent for the City of Perry, where he worked until his retirement. Ellis was a member of Midway Baptist Church and the American Legion. When he wasn't working, he found quiet joy in building boats, putting together model ships, hunting, and spending time out on the water, fishing with his wife.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Cleveland Sadler and Elease Bodiford; and his loving wife, Cathy Sadler.
Tom was a father three times over; he is survived by his sons, Jeff Sadler, and wife Christina, Tim Sadler, and wife Krystal, and Tony Sadler, and wife Rosie, all of Perry; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in the Burns Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post #96, of Perry, FL. Arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry. Everyone who knew Ellis is encouraged to join us in celebrating his life and legacy.
