Thomas L. Salzman, 69, of Mexico, NY, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Cortlandt Manor, New York. He was born on December 10, 1956, in San Francisco, California to Thomas H. and Norma L. Salzman. He enjoyed his youth in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho, but spent most of his life in Central and Northern NY.
A man of many talents, Thomas was a skilled engineer and tool and die maker, but also pursued many hobbies. He was a passionate woodworker and took great pride in his work. His love for classic cars led him to own a Mustang, and he often could be found enjoying the open road on his Indian Scout motorcycle. A lifelong enthusiast of music, Thomas was an avid Beatles fan and shared his musical talent as a guitarist in a band known as 2nd Guess.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Tom) Johnson; son, Jason (Janeen) Salzman; three granddaughters; two grandsons; one great granddaughter; and his two sisters, Diana and Sandi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Norma Salzman; and his brother, Roger Salzman.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 1PM - 3PM, followed by a funeral service at 3PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. The family will be planning a Celebration of Life at a later date in the Rocky Mountains, Idaho where he will be welcomed home.
Thomas L. Salzman leaves behind a legacy of endless cherished memories. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
