With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of a remarkable individual, Thomas Scipio, 65, of Jackson Township on Saturday, August 26, 2023 in Nashville, TN. He leaves behind a legacy of exceptional achievements, boundless positivity, and an unwavering love for life.
Born on July 25, 1958 in Nutley, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles Scipio.
From humble beginnings, he embarked on a journey that led him to become an American success story. Thomas founded, owned, and operated TPS Asphalt Maintenance, as well as developing and operating commercial properties. He was a consummate entrepreneur, having the initiative to always try something new.
One of Tom's greatest passions in life was the way he seized every moment. His zest for life was infectious, encouraging others to embrace adventure and explore new horizons. He loved to get on his Harley and just ride, living life to its fullest. Whether he was embarking on a new business endeavor or enjoying the simple pleasures of life, his enthusiasm was both captivating and contagious.
His radiant smile was a constant source of inspiration and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Friends, family, and customers alike were treated to his warmth and kindness, which he showered upon them generously. His ability to make every person he encountered feel valued and cherished is a testament to the depth of his character and the sincerity with which he embraced those around him. He ended every phone call to family and friends with a heartfelt "I love you", and he always meant it.
Among his many loves, Tom held a special place in his heart for his canine companions. His bond with his beloved dogs was a reflection of his nurturing and compassionate nature. Their loyal companionship brought immeasurable joy to his life, and he reciprocated their love with endless affection.
As we remember and celebrate the life of Tom, let us draw strength from the remarkable legacy he leaves behind. He showed us the power of a positive outlook, the significance of treating others with kindness, and the beauty of embracing each day as a gift even while challenged with his own health issues, never letting the public see that struggle. Though he may no longer walk among us, his indomitable spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
He is survived by a son, Mark, of Clifton, NJ, his cherished dogs, Cody & Melani, intrepid cat, Max, and a warm circle of truly diverse friends and extended family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Elizabeth and his treasured dog Sadie.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, Stroudsburg with viewing beginning at 2:00 pm followed immediately by the funeral service at 4:00 pm with Pastor Dana Antal, officiating. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's name to "Canines for Disabled Kids" either online at caninesforkids.org, or by check to: Canines for Disabled Kids, 65 James St. Suite 110, Worcester, MA 01603
