Thomas R. Shank

Thomas R. "Tom" Shank, 96, of Lansdale, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Faye "Ginny" Shank, who died September 25, 2015.

Born December 8, 1929 in Ringtown, PA, he was a son of the late John Frank and Beatrice (Rumbel) Shank.

Mr. Shank's career started at R.W. Hartnett Company, Philadelphia, as a Machine Apprentice. In 1994, Tom retired from a 28-year career at Merck as a Machinist.

Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, where he volunteered in maintenance, flower delivery, and the Altar Guild. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather.

Survivors include his daughter, Hetty J. Ball (Timothy) of Mountain Top, PA; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Shank of Lansdale; three grandchildren, Robert, Colleen Valentis (Colin), and Patrick; and two step-grandchildren, Adam (Valerie Cordero), and Kelly (Ball) Thomas (Dylan).

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark L. Shank; and two older brothers, Lavern and Lewis.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
