Thomas Roger Sheridan joined the Cloud of Witnesses on October 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Sheridan and Robert and Audrey Small.
Tom is survived by one son, Christopher Gooch and one grandson, Brennan Gooch. He's also survived by all of his siblings: Gloria Staten (Jerry), Richard Small (Debbie), Chris Small, and Melanie Drerup (Paul). In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, Tom is survived by dozens and dozens of cousins.
Tom was born March 2, 1950 in Dayton, OH and graduated in 1968 from Jefferson Township High School where he played sousaphone in the marching band. His love for music continued for the remainder of his life, but a couple of strokes prevented him from creating song with his voice and guitar for the past decade.
Tom's sinuses helped make his singing voice rich and melodious. However, if one were unfortunate enough to sleep in a room with or near Tom, those same sinuses caused him to sound like a freight train roaring through the night!
Tom's eccentricity showed when his fashion sense dictated that he should wear a white, Colonel Sanders type suit to his niece and nephews weddings.
Later on in life, Tom took classes and achieved the title of master gardener. He worked for a customer whose landscaped property became an important object of pride for him. He used some of his earnings to purchase a bald cypress for our mom's backyard.
We shall miss Tom's sense of humor, appreciation and knowledge of music, his home made potato salad and his love for his friends and family.
We are grateful to know that he has left his broken shell of a body behind to once again make music and worship at the feet of Jesus.
