Thomas B Simmons gave this world his last breath at about 7:45 pm on February 14, in the year of our
Lord 2024. He passed peacefully after a long hard battle with cancer, being surrounded by his loving
family who will miss him greatly.
Tom was a man of many talents and uncompromising character. He believed the most practical car a man
could own was a 1986 Maroon Ford Escort, but the best car a man could own was a Jaguar. He never
owned a Jaguar because his priorities were to provide for his family, so he settled for a 1986 Ford Escort.
He was a man of principles and never compromised. He was stifled most of his adult life with crippling
arthritis and mild poverty. He never complained about either and never used his disadvantages as an
excuse. Tom always found a way to be successful in life.
Tom was a man who held his relationships for life, both good and bad. If you were his friend, he would
be loyal to you with his last breath. However, if you crossed him, he remembered it for life. In 1976
while working as a bellhop in the local Howard Johnson, Evil Knievel came to town for a motorcycle
show and Tom carried his bags to his room. When Tom asked for a tip, Evil slammed the door in his face.
That day Evil Knievel made an enemy for life. Any time the TV mentioned the name Evil Knievel, Tom
would mutter, "That cheap son of a bitch".
Tom's character, talent, and uncompromising nature can be found in his children and grandchildren. We
all loved him very much. Not a day will go by that Tom will not be missed by those who survived him.
If we measure the wealth of a man's life in love from one's family, Thomas B. Simmons left this world as
one of the wealthiest men in the world.
Tom is preceded in death by his father Ralph, and two brothers, Scott, and Bob. He is survived by his
loving wife Karen, son Brad (Billie), son Alex (Kassie), and daughter Jaime (Tim). His mother, Diana,
sister-in-law Ronna, sister Mary (Larry), and brother Curt (Vicky).
Grandchildren Castor, Kira, Alex Jr, Ireland, Alysia, and Juliet, Great grandchildren Amaya and Rome,
and his favorite pup, Sergio.
