Thomas "Tommy" Smith Toccoa, Georgia
Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Bernard Smith, age 71 of Poplar Court, Toccoa went to be with his Heavenly Father Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
A son of the late Edgar Smith and Mamie Lou Miller Smith, he was born January 8, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, later moving to Toccoa, Georgia. He was retired from American Woodmark with 30 years of service. He was a member of The Pointe Church. He loved fishing, watching football, baseball and NASCAR races and was an avid Georgia Tech fan. He was a loving father and grandfather, known as "Papa Tom".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Diane Kirkland Smith, a sister, Sue McGowan and a granddaughter, Hannah Brothers.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and William Brothers of Eastanollee and Jennifer and Joshua Segars of Toccoa; grandchildren, Joshua Brothers, Ashleigh Brothers, Cindy Brothers, Tyler Brothers, Jarrett Segars, Hannah-Grace Segars and Haley Segars; brother, Harvey Smith of Pennsylvania; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, 1 pm at The Pointe Church with Pastor Keith Franks and Mr. William Brothers officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Joshua Brothers, Tyler Brothers, Josh Segars, Jarrett Segars, Jacob Tucker and Keith Standridge.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 pm until 8 pm. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davish.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rodney Chatman officiating.
