THOMAS WYATT SPARKS
February 19, 1938 ˜ December 26, 2025

Tom Sparks passed away peacefully on December 26,
2025 in Vancouver, WA surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born in El Centro, CA to Thomas and June
Sparks. In 1943 his family returned to Vancouver,
where Tom remained a lifelong resident.
Tom attended Fruit Valley Elementary, Shumway Jr
High and graduated from Vancouver High School in
1956. He attended Clark College until leaving to attend
Navigator Training. Tom was an active member of the
Air National Guard and served for nine and a half years as a jet engine mechanic.
Tom spent his working career with Safeway for 17 years
and Frito Lay for 18 years. Tom loved all sports and was
an avid golfer and amateur photographer. He loved
camping, fishing, traveling, working in the yard and
spending time with family and friends.
He began attending church at Fruit Valley Church of
God and was a member of Vancouver Church of God
for over 65 years.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Irene whom he
married in 1961. They have three children, Janell
Henderson, Kristine Bricker, Tom (Karen) Sparks.
Grandchildren Steven, Nicole (Yunior), Jeremy, A.J.,
Jordan, Andy and Shayla. Great grandchildren Jakob,
Kaylee, Steven Jr, Kylie, Penelope and Elowyn. Great
Great Grandchildren Asher and Willow and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
Father Thomas Sparks, Mother June Hoy (Tommy Hoy)
and his Brother Quinton Sparks.
A memorial service will be held on January 3, 2026 at
1:00 p.m. in the Vancouver Church Auditorium 3300 NE
78th St Vancouver, WA 98665.
Tom lived his last two years at The Finest Care Adult
Facility in Vancouver. The Family would like to thank
the staff for the loving care they provided as well as
Legacy Salmon Creek for the care given in his final days.
