Thomas Edward Sturgeon II, age 57, of Ashville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2026. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, and spent much of his life in Ohio, where family, hard work, and independence shaped who he was.
Tom was the beloved son of Thomas and Angela Sturgeon. He was a proud and devoted father to his children, Kirasten and Logan, and a loving grandfather to Kayden, Joseph, Asher, Alexander, and Kainin. Few things brought him more joy than time spent with his grandchildren, sharing laughter and creating memories they will always carry with them.
Tom enjoyed the outdoors and found peace in hunting and fishing, passions that reflected his appreciation for nature and quiet moments. He also loved riding motorcycles and treasured time spent in Florida, where fishing on the water brought him relaxation and happiness. Those who knew him will remember his rugged spirit, strong will, and the loyalty he showed to the people he loved.
Tom was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 189 and took pride in his work.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Thomas and Angela Sturgeon; his children, Kirasten (Joe) and Logan; his grandchildren; his sister, Tammy (Larry) Yates; his brothers, Michael (Tina) Sturgeon and Shawn (Tina) Sturgeon; as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Skye, whom he loved dearly and now joins in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on February 20, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a service to follow from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held immediately following the service at the American Legion, 3363 McDowell Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
Though his time here ended far too soon, Thomas’s legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all those who were blessed to know him.
