It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas M. Tobin-a devoted husband, proud father, Marine veteran, and beloved member of his community. Tom passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania, Tom later moved to Harveys Lake, where he created many cherished memories working alongside his father in their family excavating business, Tobin and Sons.

Answering the call to serve, Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country with honor and distinction. His time in the Marines helped shape the resilient, steadfast man his family and friends knew and admired.

After his military service, Tom married his beloved wife, Shirley Meyers, and the couple settled in Wilmington, Delaware. Together, they raised three children, his pride and joy. Tom worked as a professional truck driver, a career that reflected both his love for the open road and his unwavering dedication to providing for his family.

Upon retirement, he and Shirley embraced the snowbird life, spending winters in beautiful Stuart, Florida, where Tom found peace, warm sunshine, and lasting friendships.

Tom had a deep love for learning life's lessons through poetry. Some of his favorites were The Blue Bird of Happiness and If. By sharing these, he instilled a lifelong appreciation for words, wisdom, and reflection with his family.

Tom will be remembered for his steady presence, his dry wit, and his generous spirit. He had a strong handshake, a softer heart, and an unshakable love for his family and country.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Shirley; his three children, Thomas M. Tobin (Randee), Daniel J. Tobin, and Patricia Tobin Puszkarczuk; seven grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

At his request, there will be no formal service. Those wishing to honor his memory may do so by making a donation to Delaware Hospice.

Your journey was long, and your love will live on. Semper Fi, Tom.
